2018 Optional Events

This year's convention offers a variety of networking opportunities to bring both operators and vendors together to get acquainted or reacquainted and enjoy some great Vegas style entertainment and merriment. Here's what we have planned for you.

Note: If you are already registered for the convention and would like to add an optional event(s), please use the Optional Events Only Registration Form and return it to We will create an invoice that you can pay online.

Annual TLPF/Atlas Financial Holdings Golf Tournament, Saturday, October 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Photo: Bali Hai OverlookGolfers will be wowed as they play at Bali Hai Golf Club, the only championship golf course remaining on the famed Las Vegas Strip. The course boasts challenging play, breathtaking scenery and spectacular views of the mega-resorts on the Strip from the fairways.

As most of you know, Hal Morgan, TLPA's long-serving executive vice president, retired in June; however, we're bringing him to Vegas so you have one more chance to beat the master.

Buses will leave from the Caesars Palace Colosseum bus entrance at 7:15 a.m. and the tournament will get underway with a shotgun start set for 8:00 a.m. The buses will return at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The tournament benefits the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Foundation. The awards ceremony and transportation are once again sponsored by Atlas Financial Holdings.

The golf awards are being held at the golf course this year, so your golf registration does not also gain you access to the Kick-Off Party. They are separate registration fees this year.

Autonomous Shuttle Ride, Saturday, October 27, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Photo: Keolis' Autonomous ShuttleJoin us for a ride in the first completely autonomous, fully electric shuttle ever deployed on a public roadway in the U.S. The shuttle seats seven passengers an an attendant who will answer questions while it runs a fixed route along Fremont Street in the East Entertainment District in downtown Las Vegas.

TLPA member and sponsor Keolis has arranged for free shuttle transportation between Caesars Palace and the autonomous shuttle stop at Container Park. Attendees will experience the open air shopping and entertainment district while waiting for their ride in the autonomous vehicle.

There is no fee for this event, but TLPA badges are required to board the shuttle.

Photo: Dueling PianosKick-Off Party with Dueling Pianos, Saturday, October 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Join us for free libations and savory hors d'oeuvres as two pianos duel it out with a little high-spirited entertainment.

Flywheel is sponsoring the food, The Black Car Fund is sponsoring the libations, and Taxi Butler and zTrip are co-sponsoring the interactive dueling pianos entertainment. There is a separate fee for this event and your golf registration does NOT gain you access to the Kick-Off Party this year as the golf awards will take place at the golf course following the tournament.

New Operator Member Welcome, Sunday, October 28, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

New members won't want to miss this special welcome luncheon where you'll be seated with industry leaders eager to share their successful practices with you. If you are a new operator member, please check the box on your registration form so we will extend an invitation to you for the luncheon.There is no fee for this luncheon, but an invitation is required.

Closing Reception & Silent Auction, Monday, October 29, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m.

This evening will feature an open bar and tasty hors d'oeuvres and the always spirited silent auction to benefit the TLPA's legislative arm, the TLPA Action Fund.

Shop for your donation today; remember anyone can donate an item to the auction (valued at $50 or more with no company branded products, please). Just bring your item to the TLPA registration desk when you arrive with your name and company name on it and we'll make sure it is a featured item.
