Transportation Leader Advertising Contract only

Circulation

Transportation Leader has a circulation of 6,000 readers, 86 percent of whom are owners and managers of taxicab, limousine, sedan, airport shuttle, paratransit, and non-emergency medical fleets. The other 14 percent includes government officials and industry suppliers.

Geographic Areas Covered

Nearly 97 percent of our readers are in the United States. The remainder of our readers are located in Canada, Mexico, throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and North and South America.

Printing Method: Sheet-fed offset

Binding Method: Saddle-stitched

Trim Size: 8-1/2 x 11"

Bleeds: Please prepare artwork with an additional non-printing 1/8" on all sides.

Electronic Files: Preferred format for submitting ads. We accept ads on disk; please include fonts, graphics and a hard copy of the ad. Four-color ads also may be e-mailed if all fonts and graphics are sent with the ad, a PDF file is sent along with the components or a high-resolution PDF file of the ad is serving as the actual artwork. Most types of files are accepted. Artwork must be 300 dpi or higher. Advertisers providing art for four-color ads must provide a high-resolution color proof or they will be billed $100 for the color proof generated by our printer. Black-and-white ads may be submitted by e-mail if all fonts and graphics are provided. Please allow 1/8" on all sides for artwork that bleeds, including with PDF files (set up actual artwork to be 1/8" larger than page on all sides that bleed).

Film: Right reading, emulsion down, negative film, plus color proof. Line screen is 133 or 150 (preferred). For ads larger than one page (i.e., spreads), the submission of electronic files is advised.

Special Rates

Four-color: $600 (color proof required; cromalin preferred). If no proof is provided by the advertiser, TLPA's printer must generate a proof and the advertiser will be charged for the output.

PMS or Special Colors: $350 per color.

Covers: Inside front and back cover: 25 percent over space charge. Inside back cover: 15 percent over space charge. All covers must be four-color. Covers are non-cancelable contracts. In the event that a cover position becomes available, preference for the space will be given first to other advertisers contracted for covers, then to advertisers holding other paid preferred positions.

Center Spread: 10 percent over space charge. The center spread must be four-color.

Other Preferred Positions: Preferred positions, such as opposite table of contents, carry a 10 percent surcharge and are assigned on a first-come basis. Preferred position advertisements must be four-color.

Advertising Rates and Sizes

The following rates are effective through October 2006 and include prices and a five-time rate for advertising in all four magazine issues and the TLPA Membership Directory, published between August and September. Multiple rates are based on consecutive insertions within a calendar year. Spreads are counted as two insertions.

Ad agencies and paid-in-full 2006 TLPA Associate Members receive a 15 percent commission discount if payment for ad is received within 30 days of invoice date.

TLPA Membership Directory

The TLPA Membership Directory is used by TLPA members throughout the year to contact vendors and TLPA operator members. It is a great opportunity to get your advertisement seen repeatedly over the course of a year! The directory features both color and black & white ads and is printed in August or September. For the first time, you may contract for your Membership Directory space early in the year when you contract for space in Transportation Leader! Dispatch

Dispatch is TLPA's bimonthly newsletter mailed only to TLPA members. It is sent with the association's division newsletters — Taxicab, Limousine, and Paratransit. Dispatch offers the opportunity to place classified ads, either at a prepaid discounted price when all issues in a calendar year are contracted for ahead of time, or at $250 an insertion for a 2" x 3" classified ad or $150 an insertion for a 2" x 1" classified ad. Larger classified ads may contain photos; smaller ads typically contain about 30 words. Non-members must prepay their ads in Dispatch.

Mailing Labels

TLPA's mailing list is available for rental at the cost of $125 per 1,000 names. There are over 5,000 transportation companies on the mailing list, so a full list costs approximately $625. Associate Members receive a 15 percent discount off the cost of labels if payment is received within 30 days of the invoice date; non-members must prepay. The mailing list is available for one-time use only and may not be reproduced in any form. The minimum order for labels is 1,000; TLPA can accommodate requests for specific states. TLPA Spring Conference and Annual Convention & Trade Show

TLPA holds two annual meetings where vendors can purchase exhibit space and display their products and services. Each spring, TLPA's Spring Conference features an Exhibit Center with tabletop and floor displays. With fewer vendors than the Annual Convention & Trade Show, the Spring Conference provides a good opportunity to interact with prospective and current customers in a smaller, more relaxed setting. The 2006 Spring Conference will be held April 6-8 in Birmingham, Al. Held each fall, TLPA's Annual Convention & Trade Show features over 100 exhibit and vehicle spaces in a larger Exhibit Hall.
