The Destination

We're off to the exciting City of Angels — Los Angeles — for the 92nd Annual Convention and Trade Show! Convention dates are Thursday, October 28 through Sunday, October 31, 2010 with the pre-convention Annual Gateway Insurance Golf Tournament to benefit TLPF on Wednesday, October 27.

Boasting an average of 325 days of sunshine a year, odds are we'll have beautiful weather to explore L.A.'s most famous sites like the Hollywood Bowl, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, and Rodeo Drive. Our hotel is adjacent to L.A. LIVE, the city's mega-entertainment complex that along with the Nokia Theatre and Staples Center features upscale restaurants, Lucky Strikes Lanes and Lounge, the Grammy Museum, and ESPN Zone.

The Invitation

President Victor Dizengoff set a theme for his presidency of the Three R's: Resilience, Recovery, and Recreation. The TLPA Annual Convention combines those elements into three intense days of education and networking to help you achieve your business goals.

The Exhibits

Our meeting space will be located directly above the Grand Ballroom that will house our exhibit hall — just an elevator ride away. Industry leading vendors will be showcasing the most advanced solutions for your company.

Trade Show Hours

The Grand Opening of the Trade Show will be held on Thursday, October 28 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with the Grand Opening Cocktail Reception. On Friday, the exhibit hall will be open from 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. with a lunch being served early and an open bar later that afternoon. On Saturday, the trade show will be open from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. with lunch served early and prize drawings held before the hall closes.

Opening General Session

As we started last year, we'll hold three general sessions this year. Our keynote speakers will be the highlight of the first general session on Thursday afternoon, followed by the State of the Industry Address by TLPA President Dizengoff, the legislative report and the Operator of the Year Awards presentation on Friday. The Annual Business Meeting is the final general session on Saturday, October 30.

The Annual Business Meeting

The TLPA & TLPF Annual Business Meeting will be held Saturday morning, October 30. During these meetings, new budgets will be adopted, bylaw changes will be received, board members will be elected and sworn into office and the Driver of the Year will be awarded. The highlight will be newly elected President Robert McBride presenting his vision for the future course of TLPA and the industry.

The Educational Sessions

Our steering committees will soon meet to determine the topics for this year's very popular roundtable discussions and breakout sessions.

Plan to Attend

Review the tentative agenda and mark your calendars now. Included in your registration fee are two breakfasts, two lunches, two cocktail receptions, a tour of a transportation company and the items the exhibitors and sponsors give away. In addition, plenty of time is built into the convention schedule for you to relax, enjoy and speak informally with your fellow industry members.
