In the United States, there are approximately 6,300 companies operating 171,000 taxicabs. More than 80% of these companies operate less than 50 vehicles while 6% of taxicab operations have more than 100 vehicles in service. Taxicab companies provide work for 350,000 people and transport 1.4 billion passengers annually for purposes that primarily include business, travel, and community transportation.*
TLPA's Taxicab Division
More than 500 companies are currently members of TLPA's Taxicab Division. These companies have access to information, educational seminars, legislative representation, industry experts, and a professional network of peers and suppliers that can't be found anywhere but TLPA.
The TLPA Taxicab Division members will enjoy electronic distribution of this year's Taxicab Fact Book, and an array of educational and professional development forums at the Spring Conference & Expo and Annual Convention & Trade Show.
These initiatives are at the direction of the Taxicab Steering Committee, a group of taxicab fleet operators who volunteer to take responsibility for the division's programs and services.
