The Limousine Industry
In the United States, there are approximately 12,400 limousine companies operating 126,000 vehicles. About 11% of these operations have fleets with more than 20 vehicles. Limousine companies provide work for 275,000 people and transport 400 million passengers annually for a variety of purposes that include airport transfers, business and corporate travel, weddings, and social outings.
The term 'Limousine' is somewhat of a misnomer because it encompasses a diversified vehicle fleet. Of the 126,000 vehicles licensed as limousines, they can be broken out as follows:

TLPA's Limousine & Sedan Division
More than 300 transportation companies are currently members of TLPA's Limousine & Sedan Division. These companies have access to information, educational seminars, legislative representation, industry experts, and a professional network of peers and suppliers that can't be found anywhere but TLPA.
In 2010, Limousine & Sedan Division members will see publication of this year's Limousine & Sedan Services Fact Book which will include information on vehicles (green, age limits, model type, etc.) and information relative to licensing fees and taxes. Also, this year will see the development of guidelines for contracts that limousine companies can use with their independent contractor drivers, and an array of educational and professional development forums at the Spring Conference and Annual Convention.
These initiatives are at the direction of the Limousine & Sedan Steering Committee, a group of fleet operators who volunteer to take responsibility for the division's programs and services. The 2010 committee includes:
